This is a surprise to some, but to me I kinda figured Coach Rivera would take this action. It was announced today that Cam Newton will be inactive in tomorrow’s Carolina Panthers Preeason opener against the Houston Texans. He didn’t participate in any throwing drills, but he did toss a couple to rookie wide receiver Curtis Samuel. Newton will probably be sharing the bench with a few other players trying to nurse a few injuries. Oh well, this is good so he can heal. They need him when the season starts more than preseason….trust me! Go PANTHERS!!!
