I was at a stoplight Uptown yesterday & pulled up beside this young lady. She had her windows down & guess what she was bumpin’? “Life’s A B%#h by Nas & AZ. First of all, I was stunned that it was a female (a fine one @ that) rolling through the city playing Nas, but man that jon was sounding soooooo good, I couldn’t wait to get home to grab the CD (that’s right, I still play CD’s in the ride)! Being that “Illmatic” is one of my top 10 Hip-Hop albums of all time, this project has always been in heavy rotation in ANY Eddie O ride! I feel like lyrically Nas was on a level never reached by most emcees, & the production (Large Pro, DJ Premiere, Pete Rock, LES) was spot on. So yes, “Illmatic” is back in rotation in the ride again, for the hundred thousandth time! Hahaha!!! I’m goin’ to the car to listen…..I’m OUT!!!
