I have been a fan of Chrisette Michele since her first album “I Am.” I loved the entire album and was probably responsible for a good share of the album sales for that project (I was constantly referring people to Target to cop that).
While I liked her sophomore album “Epiphany” I felt like Ms. Michele had allowed too much commercialism in and was creeping away from the quirky, underground sound that I loved so much.
With that said, I think her latest single, “I’m A Star,” is also a bit too commercial … but I guess it’s cool. It’s definitely an inspirational song all about overcoming the lows and turning them into highs.
