Hump Day, Hump Day! And, you know what that means? Yes, it’s “He Can Get It” Wednesday.

This week’s, ‘get-me-through-the-rest-of-the-work-week-visual-eye-candy,’ is Mr. Jarvis Powers. This twenty-five year old sexy stud was born in Columbia, SC, but raised in the Washington D.C area, or what folks like to call it, “The DMV” (DC, Maryland, Virginia). Jarvis currently resides in Pittsburgh, PA where he is completing the last semester of his Masters of Science Degree at Robert Morris University.

Jarvis declares that he is a proud member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., and he is a Division-1 FCS All-American Football Player, and the 2010 WPAL Golden Glove Boxing Champion. Yes, ladies, he is good with his hands!

Jarvis got into modeling because so many people throughout his life suggested he take it up. “But I never listened,” Jarvis said. “I just felt like the more I turned it down, the more opportunities kept knocking. As I became older, I realized how much modeling could be a stepping stone to accomplishing more in my life. The networking I’ve gained through modeling, as well as my other experiences, have helped me encourage others to strive for their goals and dreams.”

When Jarvis is not modeling, his career has him working in corporate America. He also works with male mentoring programs for the city schools of Pittsburgh. He also hosts a variety of different shows on college campuses and lounges, and has been a guest speaker for different organizations and events.

I asked Jarvis what he looks for in a woman and he stated, “A thing called SWAG. To me it’s not a woman’s look, but her energy. The way she walks, talks, dresses, dances, and carries herself are all ways a female could turn a nickel into a dime. But, what’s also essential is that she is a good cook, family-oriented, God-fearing, and supportive. My mama raised me and my sisters to be caring, strong, and God-fearing individuals, so I want that in my woman.”

In his downtime, Jarvis likes to hang out with his family, frat brothers, and friends. “I enjoy good people and conversation,” he said. “I also go to the movies all the time, workout, box, and salsa.”

And, Jarvis’s good looks has garnered him part of John Singleton’s newest film “Abduction.” He’s also posed in some local business ads for clothing and sporting stores. Jarvis is also working with a new organization called, “Help-A-Brotha-Out” Foundation. It was created by a good friend of his. It is a non-profit geared towards hosting events to raise money for scholarships.
