Armed with red party cups and nearly two hours worth of jokes about women, sex (of course), kids and politics, the Plastic Cup Boyz had a near capacity audience cracking up at the Comedy Zone on Saturday.
Comedians William “Spank” Horton and Na’im Lynn were two of the three the show titled Kevin Hart presents the Plastic Cup Boyz Tour stopped through the Comedy Zone last weekend. Both have received individual fame on Netflix and cable comedy channels, but put them together and it’s a hilarious night. Each performed their own acts and provided a good balance in humor. Lynn is the single dude talking about dating and sex among other topics. His oral sex bit went on a little too long, but his sucking on fingers joke was unforgettably funny.

Some of his highlights include his jokes about working out, and how he doesn’t do any lower body. He looks good sitting in the car. And his self-observation that he’s not friendly guy.
“I’m nice, but I’m not friendly,” Lynn said. ” I’m the type of person that if I open the door for you and you don’t say thank you, I’mma chase you down.”
Horton, on the other hand, provided the grown folks humor. He’s the married guy, raising his teenage son after being mostly absent from his life. Horton’s humor was more self-deprecating.
I loved his line that marriages should be renewed like driver’s licenses. Every four years, the couple most renew.
Horton’s best bit, however, was his hypothetical reaction to his son being gay, if his son was gay which he isn’t. See where this is going? Horton didn’t resort to tired anti-gay jokes and gay humor. It was a really fresh take on how a dad would react to his son called him crying that his boyfriend was cheating on him. Or who can be called “daddy” at the dinner table.
Oh, and his take on his inability to hold a 9-5 job was funny too.
Like I said, the two were a great balance and kept me laughing, and occasionally cringing, throughout the night
