Zoning isn’t pretty or interesting, but it’s critical to how this city will develop. Zoning laws determine whether a club, apartment complex, grocery store any other type of property can be built in your neighborhood. The city of Charlotte is just in the beginning stages of rewriting its zoning laws, which will impact how this will look in the next decade. Advocates hope to use this as an opportunity to create more walkable and mixed-use developments, the Charlotte Observer reported.
