A 20-year-old man was fatally shot outside the Cook-Out on Sugar Creek Road about 4 a.m. Sunday. That Cook-Out is a favorite stopping place after a late night of partying. Cars often wrap around the building and spill onto Sugar Creek.
Investigators told the Charlotte Observer Devon Alister Clement was killed shortly after 4 a.m. Witnesses told police that Clement and several other people got into a fight in the parking lot of the restaurant located at 1301 West Sugar Creek Road, near Interstate 85. Clement had a criminal record. No arrest have been made in the case.
