Michael Strahan will join Kelly Ripa as her co-host on Live! early next month, according to numerous reports.
Regis Philbin exited the show last year on Nov. 21, and since then Kelly has had a total of 59 guest stars filling in. Yesterday, the show announced that we should look for Ripa to host solo on Sept. 3, when she kicks off the new season, and on Sept. 4, after months of anticipation Ripa will walk into the studio with her new co-host.
Several ABC staff members told TMZ that Strahan — who played in the NFL and won a Super Bowl ring — will be announced as the co-host. They also reported that Strahan’s rep was seen outside the networks building a short time ago grinning from ear to ear.
