Central Piedmont Community College announced Thursday that it is opening a new center to help unemployed or underemployed professionals land employment in job-abundant industries such as health care and energy.

The center, located on the school’s Harris campus near Charlotte/Douglas International Airport, is being funded by a two-year grant from Walmart Brighter Futures. CPCC is one of eight across the country to be selected for the project by the League of Innovation in the Community College.
