A record-tying seven actors of color are nominated in lead and supporting categories at the 89th annual Academy Awards ceremony, which airs Sunday, February 26, at 8:30 pm EST on ABC.

As the time has come again for us to honor those whose work in the fields of television, music, literature, film and social justice shone so brightly via the 48th Annual NAACP Image Awards, we’d like to take a moment to express our gratitude for those who made a tough year so much easier to survive.
