Capitol Records’ Cali Swag District recently released their second hit single “Where You Are” featuring Michael Jackson’s sample “I Wanna Be Where You Are.” In celebration of Michael Jackson’s birthday Aug. 29, Cali Swag District made a new lyric video of “Where You Are.” The lyric video could be the next trend in music videos. Cali Swag videos elevates the kinetic typography seen in CeeLo’s “F*** You.”

In Green’s video, the words scroll up and expand on the page. In Cali Swag’s video, letters and punctuation vibrate to the rhythm and fly off the page. It’s cute. Could lyric videos be the trend that finally replaces home-made dance videos as the hot thing on YouTube?
