South Carolina has shattered its record for first-day early voting. The early voting period kicked off on October 21, with 125,900 residents casting their ballots. This marks a significant increase compared to the first day of early voting in November 2022, which saw 70,100 voters.
According to WBTV, North Carolina also reported impressive turnout on its first day, with 353,166 voters participating. Early voting in South Carolina will continue until Saturday, November 2, just three days before Election Day.
In both Carolinas, voters can go to any polling location within their registered county for early voting. However, on Election Day, voters must visit their assigned precinct. Both states require voters to present a photo ID.
