Charlotte Observer business columnist Ron Stodghill likes No Grease Barbershop and the business foresight of the team that runs it, but he argues the company should changes its minstrel-era logo in today’s Observer.

Stodghill describes the logo as the bug-eyed, black-faced caricature inspired by those dehumanizing minstrel shows of yesteryear. No Grease’s owners have always argued that their company’s success flips the script on the caricature. Kind of like how young blacks redefine the n-word.
