Word on the street is Sunshine Anderson is back in the lab working on an album.  The Winston-Salem born, Charlotte native is best known for her hit, “Heard It All Before.”

Wallace Sellars, a friend of a producer/Soulife A&R Vice President, Mike City, heard Anderson singing on her way to the cafeteria of North Carolina Central University (where she earned a B.S. in criminal justice) and introduced the two. From there, Anderson was managed by Macy Gray during the recording of her first album.

In June 2001, Anderson released her first album on Atlantic Records. The album debut at #8 on Billboards Hot 200 and #2 on Top R&B charts. Her debut album, Your Woman, was certified gold. “Heard It All Before“, the lead single, charted at #18 on the Hot 100 and a #3 on the R&B charts. With the top ten hit Heard It All Before, Sunshine Anderson quickly became one of Soullife/Atlantic’s signature singers.[6] The follow up single “Lunch or Dinner“, debut at #54 on Hot R&B charts.

In 2003, Sunshine left Atlantic Records and started searching for a new record label.

In August 2004, Anderson signed to Matthew Knowles‘ new record label Music World Entertainment. In 2005, Anderson started her own record label, entitled “Shining Star.” In 2006, the lead single “Something I Wanna Give You” was released and debut at #80 on Hot R&B charts. A video for lead single “Something I Wanna Give You” was shot next month in Los Angeles by director Gil Green.

On January 23, 2007, Sunshine Anderson released her sophomore album, entitled “Sunshine at Midnight.” The album debut at #86 on Billboards Hot 200 and #16 on Hot R&B charts. In addition to release of the album, Anderson toured with singer Brian McKnight. In May 2007, the album’s second single “Force of Nature” was released and debut at #75 on Hot R&B charts.
