Songstress Beyoncé has never shied away from showing political support. She even teamed up with First Lady Michelle Obama on her initiative to overcome obesity in our country. As President Obama’s time in the White House comes to an end, the Houston-bred singer shows who she’s riding with for the next election. She was recently spotted at a campaign event for Hillary Clinton. The event was held in New York City at LA Reid‘s house and cost $2,700 per person. New Bill Bans Abortions After 20 Weeks

A new bill was recently passed that will change the face of reproductive rights. The House of Representatives agreed on a new legislation that would ban women from getting an abortion after 20 weeks of pregnancy. Many pro-abortion groups are outraged by the decision. “Once again, some members of Congress think politics — not medical expertise or a woman’s health — should drive important health care decisions,” said Gretchen Borchelt, who works on health and reproductive rights at the National Women’s Law Center. “Passing an unconstitutional nationwide ban on later abortions does nothing to help women — instead, it threatens their health and lives and interferes in their personal medical decisions.” Read more.


Secret Service Officials Reportedly Intoxicated During White House Incident

Earlier this year, two Secret Service officials found themselves in hot water after they drove a vehicle through a secure area near the White House. There are reports that the two officials, Marc Connolly and George Ogilvie, were intoxicated during the incident. The duo reportedly spent five hours drinking at a bar. Homeland Security Inspector General John Roth said both men “displayed poor judgment and a lack of institutional awareness.” Read more.


Eric Garner’s Family Organizes “Music for Justice” Concert

The family of Eric Garner, the Staten Island man who was killed by police last year, are in the process of organizing a concert for justice. The event, “Music for Justice,” will take place on July 18th in Brooklyn. It will intertwine hip-hop, art, dance, and fashion and will also feature educational forums and remarks from motivational speakers. Organized by Prez One Entertainment and The Garner Way, the concert will be open and free for all.
