At Coachella last year hip hop definitely stole the show when Dr. Dre and Snoop performed with a hologram of the late Tupac. 2011 saw Kanye West and Pusha-T close out the festival with a unforgettable performance. Unfortunately, this year hip hop got the boot from this years headlining duties.
Back in 2010 Jay-Z headlined lined the festival becoming the first black artist to headline the show. The first hip hop act to actually headline the festival was The Beastie Boys back in 2003. While no big names will headline the stage, acts like Wu-Tang, Raider Klan, 2 Chainz and Danny Brown will represent hip hop this year. Let’s take a quick flash back of some of the hip hop acts that graced the Coachella stages.
