On the scene as one of the first famous femcees, the Newark native fearlessly addressed social issues through her music, inspiring women to embrace their strength. She demanded respect and helped redefine Black women’s femininity—and continued this aim through memorable performances in film and TV. Queen Latifah played with a whimsy professional look while hosting the NAACP’s big night. She chose a brown suit dress with a dramatic bow-neck tie from Christian Siriano for one of her looks. The queen’s gown is fresh off the runway and was presented during the designer’s Fall/Winter 2024 NYFW presentation.
