1. Lady Wray – Hard Times

Today, Lady Wray shares the latest offering from her forthcoming new album with “Hard Times”. From its opening drum beats, Lady Wray’s new single beckons listeners to the dancefloor, with a triumphant, feel good anthem that collides contemporary R&B and classic soul with cheeky flashes of disco flair. Despite the dour foreshadowing of the song’s title, “Hard Times” is an uplifting statement of perseverance and holding on to one’s joy, a driving theme of Nicole’s new album Cover Girl, out September 26th via Big Crown Records. 

Cover Girl elevates Wray’s artistry as the latest product of her decade-spanning partnership with Grammy Award winning producer Leon Michels (Clairo, Norah Jones, Freddie Gibbs). Together, Wray and Michels have crafted a joyful, revitalized vision of Wray’s sound, which draws from several of her formative musical influences, ‘60s and ‘70s-inspired soul and disco, ‘90s hip-hop and R&B, and gospel. Cover Girl also captures Wray turning the focus of her writing inward, looking back fondly on herself as a little girl as she’s grown as a mother in the years since 2022’s Piece of Me, living vivaciously with the same warmth she sees watching her daughter grow up.

Following a series of industry road bumps and the doubts that can come with finding your footing when beginning a career in music at just 16, Lady Wray reclaimed the spirit she first brought to music singing in her hometown church choir. Her two previous albums on Big Crown Records, 2016’s Queen Alone and 2022’s Piece of Me, saw her reimagine her identity as a musician exactly how she wanted to be seen, and the latter of which led to her late night TV debut on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (performing “Come On In”) and perform a rousting NPR Tiny Desk Concert. With Cover Girl, Nicole is letting her hair down, continuing her decade-spanning partnership with Leon Michels to infuse the raw soul and gospel power in her voice with a self-assured collection of contemporary R&B, soul and funk songs that speak to her joy and the revived bliss of this stage of her career.

2. FearDorian & osquinn – Bags

Atlanta’s FearDorian (He/Him) and Baltimore’s osquinn (She/Her) have proven themselves as two of the underground’s most innovative producer/artist hybrids this decade. After years of one-off collabs and teases, these longtime friends are officially teaming-up for their upcoming album, Before You Press Play, out October 3rd via 3500. 

Today, they share their first offering, “Bags”, a slow burning cut that showcases their undeniable chemistry. The duo tag teams the track, delivering bars in their distinct styles, flowing atop the expertly crafted production, airing grievances and ambitions while reflecting on what drives them. Providing a glimpse into the unique genre-defying world these sonic architects are building together.

A new chapter unfolds as two of the underground’s most-forward thinking artists prepare to unveil their most personal body of work yet–a testament to the mutual trust and creative bond they’ve built online and off. FearDorian and osquinn first met as teenagers, rising producers raised on Soundcloud, message boards, Discord’s, and Atlanta’s evolving music scene. Their shared obsession with music from around the world is evident in their expansive sonic palettes and clever, sample-heavy productions–rooted in deep knowledge and unfiltered curiosity.

Before You Press Play, finds osquinn and Dorian combining their diverse skill sets to develop a bold and confident record with equal parts beauty and madness. Rejecting trends and subverting expectations, the album pushes the underground’s sound forward with fearless experimentation. Born from late-night recording sessions, tour stops, and years of shared experience, it’s an arresting, introspective record shaped by lived reality and deep creative trust. 

An early pioneer of the digicore era that birthed artists like Jane Remover, glaive, Brakence, Glitch Gum, etc., quinn first made waves on SoundCloud with hyperpop-adjacent chaos–producing, singing, and rapping her way into cult status. Early tracks like the dreamy, existential crisis “I don’t want that many friends in the first place” (80M+ Streams), the introverted rhythmic confessional “ok im cool” (23M+Streams), and the generation-defining “bad idea” helped establish her as one of the scene’s most dynamic voices. Over time, she’s carved out a lane of her own, pushing boundaries through projects like her debut album Drive-By Lullabies (2021), quinn (2022), stars fell on trench (2025), and most recently lowlife (2025). Her work consistently delivers genre-defying productions that blend heart with high-concept experimentation consisting of electronic oddities, jazz flourishes, and confessional lyricism. 

FearDorian has quickly become a go to producer for the underground, helping craft the sonic worlds of Surf Gang, xaviersobased, NolanBeRollin, Polo Perks, RiTchie and BabyxSosa. But in 2024, he fully stepped into his own as a solo artist with his self-titled debut, collaborative tape A Dog’s Chance (with Polo Perks, AyooLii) and his 2025 breakouts Leaving Home and Out The Past With A Window –coming-of-age records highlighting his sharp songwriting and cinematic production, capturing the weird in-between of growing up online while trying to make real life count. Songs like the disaffected groove of “I.V.” and spacey flow fest with quinn on “Las Vegas” showed off his heavy-hitting bars and ability to ride on esoteric beats whereas tracks like “Gotta Be” and “Pray 4 the People” showcase his post-genre sound and DIY ethos (recorded in his Mom’s car), as they mix blown-out low end production with diaristic raps about pressure, purpose, and survival. 

Championed by Pitchfork, NoBells, The Fader, Business Insider, The New York Times, and more, both artists have carved singular paths through the underground. Now, together as a chosen family, Dorian and quinn feel like kindred spirits, conjuring a world of bass-heavy ambiance, distorted melodies, warped samples, and lyrical vulnerability. Before You Press Play is a self-assured body of work that doesn’t chase trends, it sets them.

3. Kodak Black – Imma Shoot

Multi-platinum rapper Kodak Black  has dropped “Imma Shoot,” a solemn but subtly catchy single that finds the Pompano Beach star in documentarian mode, telling raw stories from the streets on Friday via Vulture Love / Capitol Records. Kodak teased “Imma Shoot” on his socials, racking up over 2.75 million plays across TikTok previews and drawing favorable comparisons from fans and peers alike to his massive 2021 hit “Super Gremlin,” which climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has 325 million views on YouTube alone. The new song is similarly built on a memorable pitched-up vocal loop and features Kodak spitting his grittiest bars, detailing bleak realities with an all-seeing eye and years of hard-won wisdom. Last month, Kodak received the key to his home city, Pompano Beach, Florida, in recognition of his significant generosity and positive impact on the community over the years. He marked the occasion with his latest song the celebratory and locally shot video, “Keys To The City.”

4. Maria Ellis – I Like Me (When I'm Loving You)

Today, captivating Pop/R&B singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Maria Ellis has released her latest single “I Like Me (When I’m Loving You)”. Listen HERE.

Self-written and produced by Maria alongside Cristian Macy, “I Like Me (When I’m Loving You)” draws inspiration from 90s Pop/R&B, showcasing her powerful voice and fearless storytelling. A heartfelt testament to how the right kind of love can inspire self-acceptance, the track’s release coincides with Maria’s grandparents’ anniversary, adding a personal and emotional layer to its debut.

Speaking about the single, Maria says: “When writing this song, I was inspired to create something that emulates 90s Pop/R&B, like Mariah Carey and Brandy, while also making something fresh, new, and ME. I love its message of self-acceptance that is aided by a healthy relationship, which felt like the perfect transition from my last project that touched on themes of self-confidence and freedom.” 

“I also loved arranging the vocals and producing this song, especially with all of the harmonies and vocal layering.” Maria continues. “The production really mirrors the songwriting with how celebratory and happy it is. “I Like Me (When I’m Loving You)” is the first offering of new music from Maria since the May release of her debut EP ‘Ultrabaddie’. St. Louis rapper BlakeIANA begins a sizzling new chapter with today’s premiere of her fiery new single, “On BS Again,” available HERE via 300 Entertainment/Murda Beatz Music. Produced by GRAMMY® Award-winning hitmaker Zaytoven (Usher, Lil Wayne, Future), the track is joined by an official music video streaming now at YouTube HERE.

7. KenTheMan – Anyways, Whatever

KenTheMan has released the infectious single “Anyways, Whatever.” On brand with the rapper’s unapologetic theme, this track is bold, brash, and completely unfiltered. 

This week marks a major milestone for Ken, who just wrapped up headlining her North American tour where she sold out an impressive 14 of the 16 city stops, proving her undeniable star power and growing fanbase. Her current hit and viral sensation “First” has already surpassed 23 million streams and continues climbing, but Ken is never one to slow down the momentum.

8. Mudbaby Ru – Love With A YN

West Memphis breakout Mudbaby Ru returns with the release of his new single “Love With A YN,” out today via Flawless Ent/Geffen Records. “Love With A YN” sits right where risk meets feeling. Mudbaby Ru flips between chasing what he wants and holding back just enough, telling a story of loyalty built from going through it together. The video matches that vibe—quick looks, quiet beats, and unspoken moves that hit harder than words—over a smooth, hypnotic trap cadence that lets his flow do the talking.

Over the past year, Mudbaby Ru has cemented his name beyond the regional buzz that first surrounded him, breaking through with street-tested records like “40 Mo Reasons” and “Watch How You Step.” His viral  “Gun Class” and “Gun Class II” with Nardo Wick and G Herbo, which combined have surpassed 16 million views, his singles “Bezzal Land” and “Back Of The Class” have also collectively garnered over 1 million views on YouTube in under a year. He has also worked with artists such as Rob 49 on their single “6.2 Music” proved he can stand toe-to-toe with some of the game’s most respected voices. “Love With A YN,” trades the heavy-handed bravado for a slower burn, showing the range and restraint of an artist in control of his craft.

 

9. Talinwya – NEVER

Fresh off headlining two sold-out shows in LA (350 cap) and Dallas (450 cap) this summer, Talinwya has dropped “NEVER” – the leading single to his forthcoming album Payback arriving Fall 2025. 

Pulling from his old-soul influences (he’s got a James Brown tattoo to prove it) while delivering the raw sound that fans compare to Young Nudy, Playboi Carti, and Lil Baby – Talinwya blends old-school grit with a new-school, high-energy delivery. The result is a sound that’s both streetwise and timeless, like Migos’ swagger fused with Ric Flair’s flamboyance into one artist. Since last fall, Talin’s been on a sharp upward climb – from his OGM-highlighted track “Pharaoh” racking up 1.5M views and 50K+ likes, to recent co-signs from Big Sean, The Game, Don Toliver, and more. In the past three weeks alone, his Spotify monthly listeners have more than doubled (23K to 50K), his Instagram has grown by 7K followers, and his latest viral moments have pulled in hundreds of thousands of views setting the tone for a monumental year to come.

With “NEVER,” he sharpens his persona – equal parts “Mr. Sui with Ric Flair drip” and swaggered-out, blue-collar yard boy, and continues building a world where charisma and unpredictability drive every move.

10. Suzi – Hit The Target EP

Suzi gives more outside music with the deluxe version of her Hit The Target EP. Suzi’s newest EP is dedicated to making listeners feel good and lose themselves in dancing to her music. The opening track, “Hit The Target,” has Suzi desiring her man to take more action as both a lover and a leader. “New Bae” has the opposite theme of the opening track, as it’s about moving on and feeling confident that she’s irreplaceable.

Famous Brazilian R&B singer Vulgo FK sang a verse in his native tongue on the “Fine By Me” remix. Suzi sings about how it takes her some time to warm up to someone. But she warns them to be ready for her intense passion when she’s in that mood. Her smooth vocals, along with Vulgo’s rhythmic energy, make the “Fine By Me” remix the perfect dance track.

“Swollen” focuses on how Suzi wants a wealthy man over strong guitar strings. She sings, “Please don’t talk to me, unless your pockets swollen. Yup that’s what I need. More than a couple G’s. Nothing in life is free, so your pockets better be swollen…”

11. Armani White ft. Samara Cyn – GHOST.

Platinum-selling, West Philly artist Armani White unleashes a hauntingly hypnotic new single entitled “GHOST” featuring Samara Cyn out now via Def Jam Recordings. It notably marks his first collaboration with the rising Tennessee disruptor. Additionally, it sets the stage for more music to come soon from Armani White.

For “GHOST.,” he incorporates recognizable Pharrell loops into a sonic backdrop that’s as unpredictable and undeniable as a haunted house. He leans into the production with a bold, bright, and bouncy flow until the beat drops and he declares, “And when I leave, she feeling my ghost!” Samara Cyn serves up a highly quotable and hard-hitting verse of her own, providing the perfect counterpoint.
 
Together, they deliver an irresistible otherworldly anthem unlike anything else you’ll hear this year—or ever.
 
About the track, Armani White commented, “It was Mark Ronson who gave me the fire and fuel to do ‘GHOST.’ He was playing ‘BILLIE EILISH.’ and ‘SILVER TOOTH.’ in a back-to-back mashup during his DJ set, and he told me about it. So, I thought, ‘I’ve got to make another one!’ Flipping a Pharrell song and putting drums on it has definitely become a trademark of mine. It’s another ghost that’s been haunting me, so why not hit them over the head one more time?”

It lands in the wake of “CUT THE LIGHTS.” Since arriving this Spring, it has clocked just shy of a million streams. Page Six sat down with him for an interview about the track, and Ratings Game Music summed it up succinctly as “another banger.” Plus, HotNewHipHop praised, “His energy is electric, his presence undeniable,” while VIBE declared, “This is how you show the world you’re here to stay.”
 
Bringing this vibe on the road, Armani will open for the legendary T-Pain on his upcoming “TP20” Tour. The tour kicks off on October 3 in Oxon Hill, MD at The Theater at MGM National Plaza, canvases the Midwest and South, and concludes on October 26 in Lincoln, NB at Pinnacle Bank Arena. “CUT THE LIGHTS.” was initially teased at the NFC Championship game where the Eagles went on to conquer the Superbowl! The track’s frenetic beat underlines a barrage of rapid-fire bars from Armani White. His cadence alternates between gritty and gravely intonation and tightly wound verbal fireworks. As the bass booms, he goes on to proclaim, “You can tell ‘em that I did it for the city…Cut the motherfucking lights.” He asserts his dominance with uncontainable energy and an uncorked kinetic flow.
 
After stacking up a staggering 9.2 billion streams, he launches another era now.
 
He closed out 2024 with “TTSO” which followed his Road to CASABLANCO. EP. Emerging from one of the nation’s roughest cities and shaking off a multi-year prison sentence, Rio Da Yung OG is having a massive 2025, filled with sold out dates, trending videos, and more punchlines than you can count. Reflecting on all he has accomplished against the odds, Rio gives thanks to the city that raised him with F.L.I.N.T. (Feeling Like I’m Not Through), his new album.

13. K Camp – Kiss 6

Blending smooth lyricism with an effortless charisma, multi-platinum artist and visionary K Camp has steadily become a force to be reckoned with, shaping the sound of Southern rap while carving his own lane in the wider hip-hop landscape. 14. Love Spells – Wish I Didn't Love You

On the verge of a major breakthrough this year, singer-songwriter Love Spells (aka Sir Taegen Harris) continues to bare it all on his latest otherworldly single “Wish I Didn’t Love You,” out today via Loveless/ADA. Listen HERE.

“Wish I Didn’t Love You” is an intimate expression of longing & heartbreak. Produced by Alex Craig (Roy Blair, After, Claud), the song features an elegant instrumental reminiscent of early The XX and pairs effortlessly with Love Spells’ smokey vocals. 

Regarding the track, Love Spells comments, “This song is about wanting to stop carrying someone with you – a love that you can’t seem to move on from. It’s about wanting to finally move through the world without seeing traces of that person in everything you do.”

23. Skip Marley – In Our Sight

Today, GRAMMY® winning, multi-platinum artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Skip Marley uncovers a brand new single entitled “In Our Sight,” out now via Tuff Gong International/Def Jam Recordings. Listen to “In Our Sight” HERE.

24. Chance The Rapper – STAR LINE

After a six-year journey of artistic exploration, reinvention, and deep reflection, Grammy-winning global independent innovator Chance the Rapper returns with his long-awaited second studio album, Star Line. 25. KAYTRANADA – AIN'T NO DAMN WAY!

KAYTRANADA releases his new album AIN’T NO DAMN WAY! via RCA Records. The Haitian-Canadian star surprised fans by announcing the album on socials on Monday and released the full-length’s lead single “SPACE INVADER” later that night. The new single embodied the retro-modern approach to production KAYTRANADA has made his own, crafting a streaking, synth-led, bass-heavy club tune that he’s teased in sets over the course of the year including at HARD Summer earlier this month.

26. Steve Lacy – Nice Shoes

Grammy-winning artist, producer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Steve Lacy has put out his first new music since hitting #1 on Billboard and Spotify charts with his critically-lauded sophomore album, Gemini Rights, in 2022. The song, entitled “Nice Shoes,” was written and produced by Lacy. SA Rap heavyweight Nasty C has teamed upwith fellow SA hip hop artist Blxckie on new single ‘Leftie’.
