After nearly a decade since the last time we’ve heard new music from Bilal on a complete album, he is officially back on the scene and he has not disappointed his legions of dedicated fans. He’s been on the road back and forth across North America touring and performing spot dates in support of his latest release Airtight’s Revenge, which is available in stores now, all while causing more of a devoted fan base than ever before.
Even though this album shows his growth musically, he’s not afraid to say that he’s moved in a different direction ultimately adding a fusion of multiple sounds to his signature songwriting. Don’t be alarmed. It’s not too far out there, but it’s definitely a very solid effort that seems like it should be far from merely his sophomore release.
The singer/songwriter is also out making a difference during every show and with every spin of the new album. He spoke this afternoon with the show’s hosts in detail about one of the songs he performed – “Little One,” an ode to his son who has autism. Bilal says he’s doing everything he can to spread the word as he campaigns for Autism Speaks by building awareness of the condition even with his music.
