Mecklenburg County is giving fathers an opportunity to get a free paternity test for children they believe to be theirs in North Carolina. The free genetic tests will be offered next week (October 5 – 7) from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Mecklenburg County Child Support Enforcement Office at 5800 Executive Center Drive.
The tests include a DNA sample and will take about 15 minutes. Potential fathers have to have a photo identification. The child and mother do not have to be present, but will have to provide samples for the test to be complete.
