Sex Toy Tossing At WNBA Games Is Back, Angel Reese Quick To Snitch

A year after it appeared that WNBA fans had matured enough not to throw sex toys on the court during games, a new stunt proves they haven’t.

Last night, the Atlanta Dream were taking on the Los Angeles Sparks at Crypto.com Arena. Park Ji-hyun was about to take a foul shot with about three minutes left in the third quarter when a lime green sex toy was hurled from the crowd and bounced directly in front of her in the paint. 

The referee immediately blew the whistle, and the next shot shows Angel Reese pointing at the alleged perpetrator and appearing to repeatedly yell, “Get him, right there!”

Several players crack smiles as Cameron Brink kicks the towel-covered object to the sidelines so they can resume the game. 

X users show the alleged thrower, wearing a Luka Doncic jersey, trying to evade security. It has not been confirmed that it was indeed him, but security did catch the person.

After the Dream’s 124-88 victory, the WNBA quickly issued a statement, promising to punish anyone who pulls these types of stunts.

“The safety and well-being of everyone in our arenas is a top priority for our league,” the statement begins. “Objects of any kind thrown onto the court or in the seating area can pose a safety risk for players, game officials, and fans,” the WNBA wrote in its statement. “In line with WNBA Arena Security Standards, any fan who intentionally throws an object onto the court will be immediately ejected and face a minimum one-year ban in addition to being subject to arrest and prosecution by local authorities.”

The Atlanta Dream are unfortunately used to the behavior because it all started last summer on July 29 during their game against the Golden State Valkyries when a similarly lime green sex toy was tossed onto the hardwood late in the fourth quarter.

Days later, on Aug. 1, it happens again when the Valkyries were playing the Chicago Sky, this time in the third quarter.

It was followed by an Aug. 5 incident when one landed at the feet of Sophie Cunningham during a Los Angeles Sparks game against the Indiana Fever.

Then they switched up the green for a purple adult toy that was thrown during the Chicago Sky vs. Dream game. 

Several men have been arrested for last year’s incidents and faced charges like assault, disorderly conduct, public indecency/indecent exposure, and criminal trespass.

The charges for last night’s alleged assailant haven’t been announced.
