I’ve been watching the Winter Olympics every night. I’m a so-so ice skater, a terrible snowboarder and a terrible hockey player. And my skiing? It’s pizza and fries all the way down, but I love it anyway.
Despite my inability to do any of the sports performed in the Olympics, I still love watching the games. I was especially proud to see Shani Davis — a black speedskater take the gold in the men’s 1,000 meter race. We don’t see a lot of black athletes in the Winter Games.
