U.S. Families Celebrate Father’s Day with Gratitude and Togetherness

Americans across the country honored fathers and father figures Sunday with barbecues, phone calls, and heartfelt messages marking Father’s Day, celebrated each year on the third Sunday in June.

The day offered a chance to recognize dads, stepdads, grandfathers, and mentors for their guidance and support.

Spending was expected to top $22.4 billion, according to the National Retail Federation, with popular gifts including tools, sports gear, and personalized items.

For many, the day was also about remembrance.
