Employee Charged in Toddler’s Death at Lenoir Day Care
A day care employee has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of a 16-month-old girl at a Caldwell County child care facility.
Lenoir police said Alexandra Coffey, 29, was taken into custody Wednesday and charged with involuntary manslaughter. According to WBTV, she was working at Creative Beginnings of Lenoir, where the child died Monday, reportedly after going into cardiac arrest.
Coffey is being held at the Caldwell County Detention Center on a $500,000 secured bond. Authorities have not yet released full details about the circumstances surrounding the child’s death, which remains under investigation.
