The Sixth Annual Lake Norman Lighted Christmas Boat Parade will take place on Saturday, December 21st, at 5:30 p.m. The festive event, which has drawn thousands of spectators in recent years, is open to the public.
According to WCCB, the parade will begin at Blythe Landing and make stops at Ramsey Creek Park, Peninsula Yacht Club, and will conclude at Duke Energy Explorium, where Santa will make an appearance, and food trucks will be available.
Volunteers will be collecting unwrapped toys at all stops to benefit Little Smiles, a charity that supports children undergoing cancer treatments at local hospitals. Cash and online donations will also be accepted.
Organizers are still seeking boat captains to participate and volunteers to help with toy collections. Last year, 31 boats participated in the parade.
