Federal prosecutors are seeking a two-year prison sentence for Peter Thomas over unpaid trust fund taxes linked to his businesses, including the Charlotte nightclub Club One, according to court documents.
Thomas, best known as the ex-husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Cynthia Bailey, is accused of systematically evading taxes from 2017 to 2023. He owned several establishments across North Carolina, Florida, and Maryland, such as Club One CLT, Sports ONE, and Bar One. Authorities say his Charlotte businesses alone failed to pay $640,000 in trust fund taxes on employee wages to the IRS. Additionally, Thomas owed $1.1 million in unpaid taxes from businesses in Miami and Baltimore during the same period. In total, he failed to remit more than $2.5 million in employment taxes.
