Village Tavern, a North Carolina restaurant known for its steak, seafood, and Tavern specialties, has permanently closed its South Park location this week. This marks another loss for the area, as Harper’s Restaurant, a SouthPark staple since 1992, also closed in July after the landlord opted not to renew its lease for a bank.
“We closed officially Monday morning,” a person answering the phone at the Charlotte location told The Charlotte Observer before being directed to their corporate office.
Founded by Scott Richardson in Winston-Salem, Village Tavern has eight other locations across the state, including Greensboro, Raleigh, and two in Winston-Salem. This year, the chain is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
