Charlotte Native Drafted by Beloved New York Yankees

Dillon Lewis, a Charlotte native and former Queens University outfielder, was drafted by the New York Yankees last week. Lewis, a graduate of Ardrey Kell High School, was selected in the 13th round. At Queens, he excelled in 38 games, batting .350 with eight home runs, earning All-Atlantic Sun honors. MLB transactions indicate he signed his Yankees contract on July 22. Lewis is expected to begin his professional career with the FCL Yankees, though his assignment has not yet been confirmed.
