VIA CHARLOTTE OBSERVER

Raleigh is getting ready for one of the biggest black events of the year. The Omega Psi Phi, the first black fraternity founded at a historically black university, will bring its biennial Grand Conclave to the Raleigh Convention Center starting Thursday. The national convention is expected to draw as many as 5,000 people for a series of meetings and activities stretching for a week. The fraternity held the 72nd conclave in Charlotte in 2002.
