The Queen of Soul was just awarded a special citation prize “for her indelible contribution to American music and culture for more than five decades,” according to CNN.
Franklin becomes the first individual woman to receive a special citation prize, which was first started in 1930. Other winners from the past include John Coltrane, Bob Dylan and Hank Williams.
Franklin died in August of 2018 from pancreatic cancer at the age of 76.
