Happy Birthday to the REAL “King of R&B!” the one and only, Bobby Brown!
He grew up enthralled by James Brown and went to own his own cape!
Bobby Brown is who educated the world on New Jack Swing and defined the word “swagger” long before most of us knew what it meant!
I got a chance to see Bobby Brown perform in Las Vegas with New Edition and he brought the house down!
The group was singing “Every Little Step” and on the chorus of the song, Bobby took off running across the stage, jumped off the stage onto the roof of a car that they were giving away that night! He landed standing up, then slide down the hood of the car and jumped on floor in the middle of the audience and did a split!
The crowd went crazy! They can’t teach you that in Art School! That type of stage theatrics is from the Soul!
And, trust and belive, Bobby Brown’s got Soul!
