Rihanna has reportedly turned down a chance to headline the halftime show at the Super Bowl because she supports former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Kaepernick is out of the NFL after becoming a free agent two years ago and he claims that he has not been picked up because of his political stances. He was the first player to kneel during the national anthem, allegedly as a protest against injustice.
Thank you for being an agent of change, Ri-Ri! We need more people to stand up for justice for everyone.
That means me and you, too. Let’s strive to live and lead by the words written by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. from a jail cell in Birmingham…
“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.”
