Join Chirl Girl at Livingstone College in Salisbury, NC on Monday, August 20th for the Home Depot Retool Your School Campus ribbon cutting ceremony at 3pm on the campus.
Livingstone won a $30,000 grant from Home Depot’s Retool Your School Campus Improvement Grant Program in April and was given an opportunity to make upgrades to their campus.
The grants are awarded based on social media voting and project proposal scores. The Tom Joyner Morning Show, heard on 105.3 WOSF in Charlotte was instrumental in encouraging it’s listeners to fo on line and vote for Livingstone College.
Livingstone College placed third and the grant money will be used to upgrade the outdoor student pavilion next to the cafeteria.
“Home Depot strives to give back to our HBCUs what they have so generously given to the communities they are a part of: a strong foundation, renewed purpose and distinctive character,” a Home Depot official said.
