Another year, another Little Black Dress Gala in the books!
Old School 105.3’s Chirl Girl hosted the Union Chapel AME Zion Church 9th Annual Little Black Dress Scholarship Awards Dinner on Friday, June 1st. The event was created to fund scholarships for local high school students. This year’s theme was “Masquerade: Mystique With A Flare!”
Each high school senior was tasked to provide a letter of recommendation, have a minimum 3.0 GPA, write an essay, sell 5 tickets to the gala and be willing to meet with the scholarship judges.
This year’s essay question was “What affect will gun control have in schools across the nation?”
This year’s LBD Scholarship Recipients were in 1st place: Allison Dortilus; 2nd Place: Lyric Townsend; 3rd Place: Mikayla Williams and Runner Up: Alyssa Leigh.
