Women are taking over in 2018 already! If you missed the announcement this morning, Hoda Kotb is officially the new co-anchor with Savannah Gutrie!

The 54 year old anchor took over after the allegations of former anchor Matt Lauer came out of inappropriate workplace conduct came out late last year. Although, this is bad news for the fans of Matt Lauer, this is awesome news for Black women everywhere. With Hoda Kotb added, this is the first time; two women have anchored the very popular news show and the ratings have even rose since Lauer left the show.

This is a testament that maybe it was time for a change after all. Kotb will host the first 2 hours with Gutrie and continue to host the 4th hour with Kathie Lee Gifford.
