The Black America Web fund has collected over $400,000 in donations from all over the country. Tom and Sybil were in Houston to give some of that money to 50 families affected by Hurricane Harvey.

“The flood waters did not kill their spirits. We are pulling together as a family, ” said Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner. He thanked Tom and all the people who donated to the relief fund.

D-SNAP otherwise known as the Disaster Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program helps give food to those in need during disasters. It’s common for people to sign up for this after natural disasters.

“Nonetheless there was thousand and thousands of people who lined up which indicates that needs exist. 4,000 to 8,000 people were being registered for the D-SNAP program, ” explained Turner

But no matter what Turner wants to make sure that no one gets left behind.
