New Jersey Senator, Corey Booker introduced a new bill yesterday to legalize marijuana. The Marijuana Justice Act would legalize marijuana on the federal level and allow states to legalize locally. Senator Booker believes that legalizing marijuana would reduce violent crimes, reduce the incarceration of minorities, give police the opportunity to focus on more serious crimes, and increase states’ revenue by imposing a sales tax.
