This week, the city of Charlotte was giggly with news that Carolina Panthers’ quarterback Cam Newton and his longtime girlfriend Kia Proctor welcomed their second child. The birth of Newton’s second child came a few days after the world learned that Beyonce and Jay Z were expecting twins. Jay Z and Beyonce are married. Newton and Proctor are not.
Should they be?
The question rose about the same time Newton’s first child Chosen was born in 2015. The birth caused cheers and some consternation from traditionalists who believe that Newton should do the right thing and marry his baby mama.
