Bell Biv DeVoe, ‘Three Stripes’ (January 27th)

The beginning of 2017 looks to be big for any member of New Edition. Their much-anticipated biopic airs on BET from January 24-26 and is already getting rave reviews. January 27th, Bell Biv Devoe will release their first album since 2001 entitled “Three Strips.” They’ve already dropped their first single “Run” and if that jawn is any indication, your Auntie’s favorite Hip-Hop and R&B group should have a deep run for 2017.

Drake, ‘More Life’ (Expected Release: First Quarter 2017)

Drake was 2016’s Man of the Year. “Views” went platinum, stood tall in his beef with Meek Mill and he made the Forbes list, becoming one of the wealthiest people in Hip-Hop. Also in one year he dated Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez. Can’t beat that with a stick!

Drake is looking for a even bigger 2017 with the release of his “music playlist” ‘More Life.”

T.I., ‘The Dime Trap’

In 2016 we saw a different Tip. We got a more militant version of the trapper, one we’ve never seen before. The King of the South spoke out on Donald Trump, showed his support for Black Lives Matter and released the politically conscious “Us or Else” project. 2016 didn’t end to well for the trap star as his wife, Tiny Harris reportedly filed for divorce. While Clifford Harris fights for his marriage, Tip is getting set to release his 10th album “The Dime Trap.” Will be get conscious T.I.” or are we getting the Rubberband Man?

Trey Songz “Tremaine”

When Trey Songz popped up on Instagram with the braids in his head like it was 2004 the hope was that a new album was on the horizon. In a radio interview Trigga confirmed that a album was in the works. Titled “Tremaine,” Songz looks to show the world that he is still one of the kings of R&B.

If not, how about we finally get a new Jigga album. I mean damn, it’s time my G. Kendrick Lamar

It’s time Kendrick. It’s about that time to bless us with another classic. 2015 Lamar brought us To Pimp A Butterfly. 2016 he gave us the the TPAB leftovers with “untitled unmastered.” Since the latter was songs leftover from his previous work it’s about time for the powers that be at Top Dawg Entertainment to give us some new Cornrow Kenny. I don’t want no Black Hippy album (even though that would be nice). Ab-Soul and Schoolboy Q dropped albums in 2016. Even Top Dawg artists Lance Skiiiwalker and Isaiah Rashad dropped album last year. We know Sza is up next for TDE but it’s time for some more Kendrick Lamar.
