Today a judge ordered a mistrial in the case of Walter Scott, an unarmed black man shot multiple times by former patrolman Michael Slager. The jury said they could not come up with a clear, concise, unanimous verdict. Scott’s mother Judy Scott has faith that “justice will be served”. The Scott family attorney Chris Stewart is already preparing for the next round, & even Governor Nikki Haley stated that “It is my understanding that there will be, as quickly as possible, a new trial where the Scott family & all of South Carolina will hopefully receive the closure that a verdict brings”.
