The Levines and Central Piedmont Community College are working together to create The Howard and Julie Levine Opportunity Scholars Programs, The Charlotte Observer reported. The program will provide scholarships to low income minority teens.

The Levines, founders of Family Dollar, donated a $520,000 gift cover the first 45 students. CPCC told the Charlotte Observer that they expect to have more donors which will allow them to fund more students.
