Joe has returned to the music scene after a monster year with his new album #MyNameIsJoeThomas. The lead single So I Can Have You Back, released in August, consistently maintained its top 10 status on the Billboard Adult R&B chart.
He talks to the Tom Joyner Morning Show about his time in the business, the hit new album (can you believe this is number 12?) and he reveals his unique writing process.
On his infamous struggle love songs:
“I try to connect with reality. You have some relationships that are beautiful and some that are not. A lot of the songs are from personal experiences…from friends and family. I write what I see.”
On his infamous Hello cover:
“When I heard the song, I said this is a dope song and I wanted to see how my voice sounds on the record. I do that a lot. I do a lot of remixes to see where I’m at vocally.”
