Three-year-old Erin Washington died of natural causes after playing at Monkey Joe’s, according to the medical examiner’s report the Charlotte Observer reported. Erin was rushed to a hospital after playing at Monkey Joe’s in Matthews celebrate her upcoming fourth birthday.

Kelly Ronna, a spokesperson for Monkey Joe’s, told the Observer that the company has gotten no indications about what caused Erin’s death.
“We have viewed the video footage,” Ronna said. “… here’s no evidence of an accident or injury at our facility.”
A GoFundMe account to raise money for funeral expenses has raised nearly twice the amount initially requested.
