2016 BET Awards - Arrivals

Anthony Anderson is well aware of the recent drama surrounding Birth Of A Nation director Nate Parker, but the black-ish star says he fully supports him.

TMZ caught up with Anderson in Beverly Hills and asked him about Parker’s 1999 rape case and whether or not it will affect one of the biggest films of his career. Anderson replied, “I don’t know, but I think he’s a great guy, an excellent film maker and a great actor. That’s what we should focus on.”

When asked if he’s going to watch the film when it hits theaters, Anderson responded without hesitation, “Of course I am.”

As you may recall, Anthony was himself accused of rape by an extra on Hustle & Flow in 2004, but the case was dismissed due to what the judge called “suspicious testimony” from the alleged victim.
