Chris Martin thinks Rihanna‘s voice is highly underrated.

In an interview with The Guardian, the Coldplay front man declared, in the most peculiar way possible, just how great Rih’s vocal ability is. “She is the Frank Sinatra of our generation,” he told the newspaper. “Rihanna has this thick tone, so it’s very hard to annoy anybody. It’s like a beautifully squeezed tube of toothpaste,” he explained. Well, that’s quite a, um…clever way to put it.

Coldplay and Rihanna collaborated on the band’s 2012 single “Princess of China.”
