Corey Hawkins, known by most as Dr. Dre from last year’s Straight Outta Compton, seems to be getting more acting work than he can shake a stick at. After a breakout role in the movie, he got plenty of screen time on AMC’s The Walking Dead. It seems as if his roles have prepped him for his next solo mission, as he’s set to fill very big shoes on Fox’s 24: Legacy. 24 was the show that introduced the world to Jack Bauer, a one-man “kick-asser” of terrorists. Hawkins is set to star in Legacy as…a one-man “kick-asser” of terrorists.
“He’s back from active duty, which involved killing a terrorist leader in Yemen, when crap, the terrorists have come to retaliate and carry out the attack he derailed. Lots of gunfire, running, and stern looks from Homeland’s Miranda Otto ensue. Consider Fox under a code red when 24: Legacy premieres following Super Bowl LI on Sunday, Feb. 5, with subsequent episodes airing on Monday — just like the old 24. See, nothing’s changed!”
Only time will tell if Corey can live up to the “legacy” that Jack Bauer left behind.
