Kicking off wedding season in the sweetest way, NFL player Devon Still, 26, and his longtime partner Asha Joyce, 26, got married!

The reserve player for the Houston Texans and Asha tied the knot at the New York Public Library on Friday. Still is most known for putting his career on hiatus and postponing his wedding, to be by his daughter, Leah Sari’s side as she battled stage 4 Neuroblastoma cancer.

The Cincinnati Enquirer noted at the time, that despite his back injury Still spent three weeks sleeping on a cot in a hospital room to be by his 4-year-old’s side. In November of 2015, after tumor removal surgery, Leah was officially in remission and cancer-free.

For their beautiful wedding, TheKnot.com chose the couple to be their Dream Wedding recipient.

In an exclusive, PEOPLE reports that the bride and groom descended down opposite staircases at NYPL. As soon as Devon’s daughter Leah saw Asha, who was wearing an embellished white gown with a flowing train and veil, she began crying and couldn’t stop through the whole ceremony, she held her hand over her heart.

When Devon saw Leah walk down the aisle, as their flower girl, he reportedly wiped away silent tears, smiling at his daughter he calls “his inspiration”.

The 180 guests were presented with white flowers from 17 different farms, renditions of hit songs, and delicious hors d’oeuvres. For the father-daughter dance, Devon and Leah danced to “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars.

There’s nothing better than a happy ending, but for the Stills this is truly the beginning.
