Prince is gone, but never forgotten.

While fans are still recovering from the shocking loss of the iconic musician, many have stepped up to honor him through performance. Within 24 hours of the news of his passing, Rihanna, the Broadway casts of Hamilton and The Color Purple, Mariah Carey, Spike Lee, Questlove and DJs across the world made tributes to the 57-year-old.

The latest to honor Prince will be Saturday Night Live.

According to Screencrush, “SNL Goodnight Sweet Prince” will feature Prince’s history of musical performances on the late-night sketch comedy show. The artist performed on the show three times: 1981, 2006, and most recently in 2014.

As reported by the publication, SNL intended to take off the coming weekend in preparation for its final May shows, but given the tragic passing of the icon, NBC will pay tribute with a special highlight of the artist’s musical performances.

On April 21, Prince was found unresponsive in an elevator at his Paisley Park compound. According to Carver County Sheriff Jim Olson there were no reasons to believe that the death was a suicide and there were “no obvious signs of trauma.”

As noted by CNN, an autopsy was conducted Friday at the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office in Ramsey, Minnesota, but it could be days or weeks before results are complete, spokeswoman Martha Weaver said. The autopsy began at 9 a.m. CT (10 a.m. ET) and lasted four hours, she added.

We look forward to seeing how the show honors the incredible man.
