The new trailer for Girl on the Train is out now. The movie is a film adaptation of Paula Hawkins’ novel, which was the top selling book on Amazon in 2015. The film stars Emily Blunt as Rachel, the main character of the story. “Blunt told reporters in Jaunary that the role was “the most challenging thing I’ve ever done.” The movie will be in theaters on October 7th.
Blade Runner, which was originally scheduled to be released in 2018, has been given a new October 8, 2017 release date. The sequel picks up a few decades after the original left off, with Ford reprising his role as Deckard. Cast members include Ryan Gosling, Robin Wright, and Dave Bautista.
There seems to be a resurgence of turning TV shows into movies. Sony’s been the biggest benefactor so far, turning 21 Jump Street into a financial and commercial success. Baywatch, led by action hero Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, looks to follow in its footsteps. Three’s Company, a hit show from the late ’70s and early ’80s, will be trying to keep that momentum up. “[New Line Cinema] is in negotiations to pick up the rights to the classic television series Three’s Company, and is tapping scribes Abby Kohn and Marc Silverstein, the duo behind its 2009 hit He’s Just Not That Into You, to pen the screenplay.”
