2015 iHeartRadio Music Festival - Night 1 - Show

Earlier this week, we reported on Kanye West‘s meltdown before his scheduled Saturday Night Live performance of his new single “Ultra Light Beam” off his new album T.L.O.P

Well, after much speculation of what might’ve possibly went down, a snippet of Kanye’s apparent tantrum leaked on the Internet — what a surprise, right?

In the clip acquired by Page Six, we hear Kanye allegedly ranting about the lighting in his set design being messed up. Kanye says “Look at that shit they took my fu*king stage off’a SNL without asking me. I am bummed … If I am going to do this we are breaking the motherfu*king Internet.

A source close to the rapper said, “right before he was about to go on live television they took his stage apart. Like any artist, he’s a perfectionist, and wanted his performance to be right. Of course he was upset.

And, egotistically enough — which he recently admitted has been his weakness — he also referred to himself as “50 percent more influential” than any artist, dead or alive. In the same breath he says, “Are they fu*king crazy? Whoa by 50 percent [I am more influential than] Stanley Kubrick, Picasso, Apostle Paul, fu*king Picasso and Escobar. By 50 percent more influential than any other human being. Don’t fu*k with me. Don’t fu*k with me. Don’t fu*k with me. By 50 percent dead or alive, by 50 percent for the next 1,000 years. Stanley Kubrick, ‘Ye.

The unidentified witness who first spoke of Kanye’s meltdown also added that Kanye called SNL staff members “White motherfu*kers,” but it has not been confirmed if that is entirely true.

Kanye’s source, however, says the recorded audio was tapped without Kanye’s permission and was taken entirely out of context. The source stated, “He did NOT yell at SNL staff. This audio was secretly recorded while he was venting his frustration in a private moment with his team.”

The source went on to mention how stressed Kanye has been with the launch of Yeezy Season 3 and T.L.O.P. — and how hard he worked on perfecting the SNL performance. “He had spent an entire day rehearsing and a lot of hard work into the performance. Dramatic set changes were made 30 minutes before going live. It should be understandable why he was upset after being completely blindsided.”

Adding, “Kanye was seen hugging Lorne Michaels just before the goodnights and he stayed afterwards to chat with the staff and the cast, and thanked the producers on his way out the door.

Kanye’s alleged SNL adds to the long list of Twitter rants he has spewed out lately — including revealing he was millions in debt and asking Mark Zuckerberg for $1 billion dollars. To which one fan decided to create a GoFundMe to help raise the money.

Maybe his lack of funds is the root of his random breakdowns.
